Why do shows use studio laughter?
because they know they aren't funny without it
Cos the actors are bad and would make too many mistakes in order to have an audience with real laughter? Lol. Also, maybe, the show would need to change backdrop/props alot for different locations and it would be too time consuming to have a live audience?
To elicit laughter from their mainstream conformed viewers.
A) To tell us when to laugh
B) Pacing reasons, they assume you are laughing with the studio laughter so they space out dialogue with it

cuz laugh is contagious and if they dont use studio laughs ppl wont know when to and when no to laugh.
To fill up the silence & so the dumber viewers know when to laugh (or not too)
so it sounds better. not all shows have it, and some are live audiences.
Omg! i was gonna say the same exact thing as christinee!
'Cause they're stupid.
