I think the humans do it for pleasure and amusement

i mean i know its supposed to tell you when something is funny and when to laugh but whats the point. shouldnt you laugh

Has there been any other reasons lately in the Psychology and/or Philosophy World about why we laugh and what makes something humorous?
Over the summer earlier on this year I went through a pretty extreme traumatic event that involved a large amount of psychedelic
so theres this super hott chica ive had my eye on for awhile..yesterday we were late for a movie we were going to watch,
