How often do you have to hold back laughter when disciplining your kids?
...And how do you hold back the giggles? I try hard, but sometimes, I just can't. Usually its when my daughter has a funny reaction to her punishment...then she thinks I'm laughing at her. Which, I guess I am...but I really can't seem to help it.
I bite the inside corner of my lip, or just walk away (I'm just so mad I can't look at them for a minute lol)
There is now a permanent fold I can grab to bite so I don't burst out laughing.
All my kids, and the kids that have come into my life, and I still don't have great control.
My youngest will grab my face and ask me if I'm ready to be nice now. Get's me every time.

oh... it's so hard sometimes!!!
with my older kids when it happens i tell them i am only laughing because i don't want the neighbours to hear me getting mad... but it's not happy laughter, it's angry laughter
with the little ones it's hard though, isn't it?!!
my little guy timothy scrunches up his face really tight when he's about to cry and he cries really easily if he knows he really did something bad... but the scrunched up face is hilarious! and it's so hard not to let him see my reaction... omg... it's sooooo funny!!!

Typically, on a daily basis. lol They almost ALWAYS do something 'wrong' or 'bad' every single day that I know I should punish them or at least explain why its not acceptable, but I just can't stop from giggling. In those cases, I ask them to go to their rooms for a few minutes and tell them that I will be there in a minute. Then I have my good giggle and put on my game face before having a talk with them. I guess sometimes its a situation where, if I didn't laugh, I'd cry. Like the time they drew all over the carpets with crayons and magic markers. Laughter was the only thing that kept me from really blowing my lid. lol It was a colorful, creative mess!
My 5yr old daughter got in trouble today and as i was lecturing her i looked directly into her eyes and her face was red and her cheeks were puffed up and stuff and she had her arms folded, she was trying to be mad at me and give me that angry face for punishing her but it was more cute than angry and it was funny, after i gave her her punishment i went upstairs and laughed..
Oh yes this happens every once in a while. Sometimes I can't hold back laughter.
Sometimes and I have actually bit my tongue so hard it's bled just to keep from laughing.
Oh yes...it drives me nuts sometimes how cute they can be when they are in trouble. Sometimes I will just look at my husband and we try not to start cracking up!
Probably about once or twice a week. My son is at an age now where he comes up with funny things or just says things that are funny without meaning to. It's cute.
Every time! No matter how mad I am it seems impossible to look into his face and not smile.
