They don't use laughter from just one show. Its more of a myriad composite recording of all the actors in hollywood laughing for money. They have to use actors because the shows aren't funny to begin with.
I don't suppose you remember "Burns and Allen" from the '50s.

Oh no, it's not canned laughter! They filmed it in front of a live audience - but they also got the audience drunk and high first so they would laugh at anything!
