Does laughter play an important role in one's spiritual health, in your opinion?
sure does i try and laugh all the time and also making people laugh is good to : )
I don't believe that laughter plays an important role in one's spiritual health. If you stop to think about this question you should realize that if you are a spiritual person, there is not much to laugh about. A person who has faith in something or someone, is hoping that their faith will teach them to act in a way that should bring them closer to what they believe in. Laughter comes from words that usually make fun of someone or something that happens to someone that is not a usual situation.
Being spiritual is a serious and hopeful way of thinking.

Do you think Satan likes to see you happy? He wants to see people depressed, miserable and sad, in this way he continue to have a hold over us, but when we display joy despite our condition, he finds he no longer has control of the situation. I have found that when I feel unwell or have had disappointing news, I pray about it, and continue to praise God and if despite this, I feel as if misery is about to take me over, i just start to laugh, displaying sheer joy, as if nothing bad has happened, at first it is forced but then, at some point I find I can't stop. While this is going on, the misery is completely gone, and by the time I have sobered up the illness, whether it be a headache or any other ache has practically gone. Following a good laugh you always feel so much better spiritually, mentally, and physically. So yes I believe laughter plays an important role in ones spiritual health.
And there's the added bonus of knowing the Devil is most definitely not laughing.

It plays an essential role in your mental health,...i know that for a fact.
You do actually release feel good chemicals when you laugh...you flood your brain with them in fact.
and without these you will be prone to depression and other mental problems.

Well let me just say that happiness & joy are key to a spiritually healthy and a mentally healthy LIFE - and laughter <within parameters of course> is a healthy, stress relieving thing as well and I happen to believe that the good Lord MUST have a good sense of humor Himself!
Sadly - plenty of 'religious' folks tend to be rather sour faced and lacking in HUMOR.... but not the well balanced truly happy ones I think! : )

"Not living in fear is a great gift,
because certainly these days we do it so much.
And do you know what I like about comedy?
You can’t laugh and be afraid at the same time—of ANYTHING.
If you're laughing, I defy you to be afraid."

Maybe it is the other way around.
If you knew that you were facing a firing squad in a few weeks it would
be difficult to be cheerful. But if you are in a good spiritual frame of mind
humor might be a hallmark of the occasion.

joy expressed by laughter releases stress, and causes a slightly higher oxygenation

But of course- laughter is the best medicine
Pro 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
